  • WE ARE…

... THE PERKES. We still consider ourselves newlyweds [we've been married for almost 5 years]. Our firstborn, Jace, is now 2 years old, and became a big brother when Sofia Rain joined our family in November 2012. We are from the East Coast [Luisa is from MA and Nate is from NH]. We are Bronco's Fans [We've lived in the Boise area for almost 5 years]. We are travelers. We are athletes and we are dancers. We are enthusiastic about food. We are spontaneous. We are addicted to the sun. We are in love.

Most importantly... we are HAPPY. We are the Perkes.

Rare Recipes for Reptilian Refreshments

Once, on a trip to Denver, Mom and Dad Perkes discovered this amazing dessert. Subsequently, they perfected the recipe for this delicacy and now it is somewhat of a family tradition. From hot to cold, sweet to spicy, it satisfies all your sweet tooth tendencies.

Resting in a warm bed of white chocolate and cream, this ball of chocolate ice cream is coated in a cocoa powder/cayenne pepper blend. Rely on the creamy white chocolate to soothe the ‘bite’ that inspired this desserts name.
*Normally garnished with a dark chocolate drizzle.

*Warning: Do not attempt to inhale while you take a bite, or even while you are chewing. If done so, the cayenne pepper will coat your lungs and esophagus and a violent coughing fit will ensue. Further enjoyment will be compromised.

This recipe was created with the expertise of our local pregnant chef. Kate invented this Rattlesnake look like, without the rattle, and decided a safer attempt at enjoying ice cream would be more accommodating.

Smothered in white chocolate and cream, this brownie is topped with chocolate ice cream. The entire ensemble is coated in melted white chocolate, which hardens and provides a decadent crunch.

Stay tuned for more from the Perkes Kitchen!
