Collect Call from: We’adababi EetsaBoi…
Before the dawning of the cell phone era, there existed such a thing as…. collect calls. *gasp* How archaic! When I was a child, naively pliable to the mainstream marketing of television commercials [Commercials?? No TiVo?], I remember one particular AD of a father calling his folks to annouce the arrival of his son.
OBVIOUSLY, we have not as yet HAD our little baby BOY, but today we found out that it IS a little baby boy!!! You can be assured that when he DOES actually arrive, you will not receive the big news by a collect phone call.
This is us waiting to start our ultrasound…
The sonographer put that warm goop on my belly, and nearly the very MOMENT that she put the camera on, WE SAW!! She didn’t even need to tell us what it was. “IT’S A BOY!!” Nate and I yell. And we slap each other high five!
The rest of the experience was just beautiful and exciting. She took all the measurements and looked at every part of his little body. Nate and I just marveled at how perfect he is. Our absolute joy and giddiness actually resulted in being problematic, since my giggling would blur the images and bounce the camera. The nurse was NOT so amused.
I LOVE how his legs look here… so strong! And stretched out!! Jeez. THAT’S what I’ve been feeling.
This gift from my boss was appropriately accompanied by chocolate… and trail mix since he knows I try to eat healthy.
After the appointment, Nate and I decided to CELEBRATE!! We went and bought his 1st oufit!!
And what’s a celebration without good food?!? I’ve been CRAVING this forever, and it was worth the wait! Carl’s Jr. Double Western Bacon Angus Cheeseburger…. with Waffle Fries and Fry Sauce!!! Heavenly. And our little boy LOVED it too.
I hope that the nurse didn’t mistake our excitement as being about the gender of the baby as much as it was about how PERFECTLY healthy he is, thus far. What a blessing. We are SO grateful for that.
